  4. Now there were always some scholars, a minority, 
  5. who thought that McLuhan had some 
  6. extraordinary insights and wanted to pursue those 
  7. insights. Not that he had all the final answers, 
  8. that‚Äôs not the point. McLuhan is a catalyst. He‚Äôs 
  9. not a guy who sets up a system. He is more like 
  10. Humpty Dumpty, who you can‚Äôt put it all back 
  11. together again in some coherent fashion. You can 
  12. indeed trace all of McLuhan‚Äôs work, that‚Äôs what I 
  13. attempt to do, but I think that one can do that.
